Head of Communications, Charity £45,000 to £53,000 A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Communications professional to take on the role of Head of Communications and join this brilliant global relief charity to further their work in the developing world. The Head of Communications is part of the senior management team and reports in to the CEO and will be responsible for line managing a small professional team including a graphic designer, writer / content creator and PR/Media co-ordinator and external party suppliers. We are seeking an experienced and proactive individual to help in leading the charity’s brand image and development. This is a key role in the charity’s 5-year strategy to make a step change in their income to enable them to expand their life giving work and will be overseeing both internal and external communications, defining a clear brand in the UK and building and developing relationships with their target audiences, supporters and donors. As Head of Communications you will be responsible for the ownership of the charity’s unique messaging, developing a marketing, communications and PR strategy that builds profile and understanding in their target audiences and working collaboratively with the Global Brand team and UK teams. You will oversee the implementation of the UK brand, core messaging and tone and develop a team of spokespeople who are trained to act as thought leaders representing the charity in core media. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will deliver high quality comms for the Engagement team, working with fundraising and individual giving on content and campaigns. Managing multiple workstreams and developing innovative and inspiring content and design. Day-to-day you will also take responsibility for supporting the delivery of highly effective PR and marketing campaigns via digital, social and media channels. Ideally you will be a degree and/or Professionally qualified Communications / Marketing / PR professional with strong experience within the charity sector, with a knowledge of and understanding of the challenges presented in communicating within the Christian sector and Faith sector. An Influencer who can demonstrate excellent project management skills together with solid line management expertise, experience of leading PR strategies and working with the media to raise awareness and profile of an organisation, drawing insights and making recommendations for optimising and influencing the design of future campaigns. This is a role about passion in action! The role can be office based or a hybrid remote working / office-based with work time at home with the rest being office based out of their office in Hertfordshire and offers a salary up to £53,000 + a great benefits package.
