Job Title: Oncology Pharmacist – Band 7/8a Job Reference: AR/27/11/24/2 Location: NHS Hospital, Birmingham Start Date: January 2025 About the Role: We are currently seeking an experienced Oncology Pharmacist for a Band 7/8a position to join an NHS Hospital pharmacy team in Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated pharmacist with a strong background in oncology to contribute to a vital area of patient care. The role will be Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a 30-minute break each day. You will play a key role in providing specialist pharmaceutical care to oncology patients, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality of service. Key Responsibilities: Provide expert advice on the use of chemotherapy and supportive medications. Manage the preparation, dispensing, and monitoring of oncology treatments. Counsel patients on the safe and effective use of medications. Collaborate with oncologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care. Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures, including medication safety and regulatory guidelines. Requirements: Oncology experience is essential. Registered pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). Experience working within an oncology setting at a Band 7/8a level. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Hourly Rate: £27 – £37 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM, with a 30-minute break.
