The Environmental Services Team at East Cambridgeshire District Council are looking for an individual with a passion for the environment; committed to reducing waste, increasing recycling and maintaining our great environment. We have recently redesigned our waste and street cleansing services to provide a resilient service with environmental benefits at its heart. We are now implementing a multi-million-pound new service: introducing new waste and recycling collections and investing in new fleet and technology to deliver maximum environmental benefit. As one of the most visible services the Council provides, we’d love you to join us as we deliver major changes to help our residents reduce their waste further, drive up recycling and reduce our carbon footprint. Environmental Services Officer – Key Responsibilities: – Providing support to the Council’s Waste and Street Cleansing client team in ensuring waste operations are delivered as required by the Council, with high levels of customer service and engagement – Supporting projects and other activities being delivered to improve the Waste and Street Cleansing service model; enhancing resident’s experience of and engagement in the service as well as contributing to a reduction of carbon emissions – Supporting the Waste Development Manager with the delivery of the Council’s communications strategy relating to waste and street cleansing services – To be the primary point for customer contacts when escalated from other services and to provide support as required to resolve such issues, including work to ensure compliance with waste related legislation – Gathering, reporting and analysing data relating to waste and street cleansing services to enable opportunities for development and improvement Environmental Services Officer – You: – Have excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills to engage and liaise with a variety of stakeholders – Be confident in data interrogation skills using IT systems and databases, and have great attention to detail – Have a flexible approach to work: responding quickly when priorities change, be self-motivated and enthusiastic with the ability to act on your own initiative – Have a current driving licence and use of your own car – We are flexible about your experience. You may be a new graduate, or experienced in waste, recycling and street cleansing services.
