We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer for a 12 Month contract based in Winsford (hybrid) on behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet’s vital power needs. Job description – Manufacturing Engineer This role will support the capability assessment of suppliers and support source selection and approval in the supply chain. Working with the wider engineering team and operations provide technical support for new product or managed service introduction. As a Manufacturing Engineer you will be responsible for: HSE – Ensure that manufacturing and related operational processes are compliant to Health, Safety & Environmental Standards and meet the expectations of the Zero Harm programme. Address issues and reporting of any concerns relating to HSE Standards in the external supply chain. Product Safety – Ensure that manufacturing processes can achieve and sustain the design intent, and that processes are followed so that our products and those of our suppliers conform to specification. Quality – Support a culture of zero defects within the organisation. Work collaboratively to reduce risk and drive product Right First Time. Ensure compliance to all relevant company, legislative and technical policies and standards including Management Systems, SABRe and Export Control and Intellectual Property requirement. Develop Capability – Develop, implement, validate, maintain and continuously improve manufacturing processes, digital systems and/or methods of manufacture which are capable of meeting and continue to meet all customer and regulatory requirements. Technical Authority – Ensure application of manufacturing process controls within the business. Maintaining computerised (business system) data records – Support the configuration of structured Bills of Materials and create manufacturing routings both of which are operationally effective.What we require from the Manufacturing Engineer: Ideally degree qualified in a relevant Engineering/Manufacturing discipline or equivalent experience-based knowledge. Good knowledge of manufacturing processes and systems as may apply to the production and maintenance of power generation, electrical control, and distribution equipment. Understanding of applicable Regulatory and Industry Codes and Standards. Able to make sound, logical decisions, based on available data. Aptitude to develop functional understanding of complex products/systems at pace. Professional courage to highlight areas of concern and risk regarding suitability of a process to meet its requirements for safety and fitness for purpose. Able to summarise complex technical issues to suit different audiences. Proven track record of successful problem solving. High standards of written and verbal communication with keen attention to detail.
