We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an M&E Engineer / Mechanical & Electrical Technician who has a strong mechanical and electrical engineering aptitude covering installations, maintenance and general troubleshooting.
As the M&E Engineer / Mechanical & Electrical Technician you will work on innovative environmental remediation projects.
Working as the M&E Engineer / Mechanical & Electrical Technician you\’ll be involved in hands‑on tasks like installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical systems. Ideally you will have previous experience gained within an industrial or similar setting.

DUTIES
Electrical:
- Confidently read electrical schematics and use a multimeter to diagnose and repair faults
- Safely isolate and replace faulty components
- Troubleshoot and program PLC systems
- Configure and calibrate VSDs
- Work with various 3‑phase equipment and inverters/drives
- Understand and utilise Profibus networks
Mechanical:
- Interpret schematic drawings to identify and rectify mechanical issues
- Repair and replace components in hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including solenoids, valves, and actuators
- Utilise various fitting techniques
Site Work:
- Travel to various sites within the UK and potentially overseas
- Work on a variety of soil and groundwater remediation projects, including in‑situ steam injection, thermal desorption, electrical resistive heating, and more
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to identify and resolve technical challenges
- Implement cost‑effective solutions to improve system reliability and safety
- Monitor and commission plant and systems
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude
- Proven experience in industrial or similar environments
- Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Experience with PLC programming and VSD calibration
- Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours
- Must have a Driving Licence. A company van will be provided
