Our client based in Bristol is looking for 7.5 T Delivery Drivers for their operations based in Bristol. The company works Tuesday till Saturday (but a Monday to Friday pattern might also be available) delivering white goods, TVs and furniture. Work starts at 6 am daily and will consist of 25 to 45 drops daily depending on the route. The depot covers the whole of the South West region.
Lorries are preloaded in the depot by warehouse staff, so no loading is required to be done by the driver, but the job is quite physical due to the number of drops and the weight of items which are delivered to the room of choice. Work is done with a driver's mate to help with deliveries. Ideally, some driving experience is required; however, freshly passed drivers are also considered. The company is quite strict on their absence policy (with no more than 3 absences accepted within 3 months' time) due to the impact on operations when runs are cancelled.
Following a successful driving assessment, you will be inducted over the next 2 days, then work would start. On the off chance you were booked as a spare driver and not used on the day (highly unlikely), a 4-hour payment is issued. Β£14.23 per hour; OT rate available over 48 hours worked.
Our ideal driver:
- No more than 6 points on full UK Licence, CPC and Tacho card
- Will have a good understanding of Tacho laws and driving regulations
- Will have some previous HGV driving experience (but freshly passed drivers are considered)
- Will have a positive attitude and not be shy of manual handling
Work is ongoing 5 days per week.
