We have the exciting opportunity for a Risk and Assurance Manager to join our Quality Governance and Risk Team! This is a hybrid role and requires someone based in the North East.
As our Risk and Assurance Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing the development, implementation, and maintenance of robust quality assurance, risk management, and business continuity frameworks across the organisation. This role ensures that services are delivered safely, effectively, and in compliance with regulatory standards. You will provide expert leadership in quality assurance processes, risk compliance, and business continuity, working closely with internal teams and external partners to embed a culture of continuous improvement and regulatory excellence.
Key responsibilities
- Quality Assurance: Lead the Quality Assurance Framework, oversee internal audits, and support external inspection readiness. Promote continuous improvement and deliver training on quality standards.
- Business Continuity: Develop and maintain Business Continuity Plans, lead emergency planning, ensure compliance, and coordinate effective incident response with internal teams and external partners.
- Risk Management & Assurance: Oversee risk management policies, systems, and reporting. Provide expert advice on organisational risk, manage risk software, and embed risk awareness across the organisation.
- Policy & Procedure Governance: Manage the development, review, and implementation of policies and procedures. Lead policy governance meetings and ensure strategic alignment and clear communication.
- Leadership & Management: Lead and support the Quality & Safety team, build internal capability through training, and champion a culture of improvement and learning.
- Communication & Reporting: Produce and present clear reports on risk, quality, and continuity. Ensure timely communication of compliance updates and assurance matters to all stakeholders.
About you
We would love to hear from you if you possess the following:
- You’ll have a relevant degree or equivalent experience, with a strong track record in risk management, quality assurance, and business continuity in large or complex organisations.
- You’re confident managing external inspections (e.g., CQC), leading on policy development, and supporting cross-organisational change.
- You bring in-depth knowledge of risk and business continuity frameworks (e.g., ISO22301, Health & Care Act 2022), and are experienced in conducting business impact analysis and running simulation exercises.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, along with the ability to train and support others across a broad range of subject areas.
- Project management qualifications (e.g., PRINCE2) and experience delivering training are desirable.
