Our client is one of the UK's longest established specialist air hygiene and water treatment solution providers. Operating on a national basis, they work with a range of clients within High Security establishments, Healthcare, Local Government, Education and much more.
With the Head Office based in Bristol, they have specialist teams of technicians across the UK. They are currently looking for an experienced Air Technician to join the team in the north. The Air Technicians are required to test fire dampers, clean ventilation supply and extract systems and clean/maintain Air Handling Units (AHU's). There may also be the need for occasional water hygiene work. The business predominantly works on high security sites so successful candidates will need security vetting, from baseline enhanced DBS check to high level security clearance (CTC).
Key tasks include:
- Carry out fire damper testing and inspections.
- Duct access door installation.
- Ductwork and ventilation cleaning and disinfections in line with TR19 and COSHH regulations.
- Kitchen extract cleaning in line with TR19 and COSHH regulations.
- Air Handling Unit maintenance.
- AHU corrosion treatment.
- Occasional water hygiene work.
- Maintaining accurate site records and admin including timesheets, expenses, survey forms and job sheets.
Experience/Skills/Qualifications:
- Experience in working in the air hygiene industry.
- Experience of ductwork/fire damper testing/installations.
- Some experience working in water hygiene beneficial.
- Understanding of working with TR19.
- Ideally experience in one or more of the following: machinery maintenance and/or servicing, building maintenance/construction and worked around equipment in plant rooms.
- Strong health & safety knowledge and experience with a practical approach on site.
- Happy to work at height or confined spaces where required.
- Ideally applicants will have some field-based experience.
- Good communication skills, able to work to deadlines.
- Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Willing to work occasional unsocial hours and be flexible to travel or stay away.
- Full driving licence.
- You will be predominantly working in the South. Ideally you will be located around the Bristol, Swindon area.
