An industry-leading, multi-site manufacturing and logistics group is seeking a Field Service Engineer with solid experience in forklift truck maintenance to join its dedicated team in the North West. The Role: This is a field-based role responsible for the service, repair, and preventative maintenance of a large in-house fleet of forklift trucks and material handling equipment. The successful candidate will travel between regional sites, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of critical machinery. Occasional overnight stays may be required due to the nature of site coverage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine servicing, safety checks, and inspections on forklift trucks.
- Diagnose and repair faults in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Complete accurate service reports, maintenance logs, and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate with internal teams to schedule and prioritise maintenance tasks.
- Uphold high standards in health & safety, working practices, and van/equipment care.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Truck Service Engineer or in maintaining similar material handling equipment.
- Strong diagnostic skills across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Full UK driving licence (clean preferred).
- Self-starter with excellent time management and customer service skills.
- Engineering qualifications (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent) are desirable.
