A local Authority based in Northampton is seeking a reliable and hardworking Environmental Operative / Labourer to join our Property Maintenance and Compliance team on a 3-month fixed-term contract. In this vital role, you will assist with property clearances, cleaning, garden maintenance, graffiti removal, and other general labouring duties to help maintain our homes and communities to a high standard.
Key Duties Include:
- Clearing and cleaning vacated properties
- Delivering and collecting materials and items
- Removing waste, furniture, and debris from properties
- Undertaking basic gardening and horticultural tasks
- Carrying out basic DIY and minor maintenance work
- Using tools, equipment, and chemicals safely and responsibly
What We're Looking For:
- A valid UK driving licence
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- Ability to carry out physically demanding tasks
- Willingness to work in confined, unpleasant, or outdoor conditions
- Ability to meet high standards under time constraints
- Flexible, reliable, and able to work well in a team
