Purpose of the Job: To support and oversee the first line of defence in identifying, assessing, and managing risks across operational, financial, conduct, and insurance risk categories.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Partner with first-line business units to support effective risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring activities.
- Provide oversight and challenge on first-line risk management processes, controls, and decision-making across operational, financial, conduct, and insurance risk areas.
- Support the enhancement and execution of the company’s risk management framework, ensuring it is effectively applied in day-to-day operations.
- Lead risk and control self-assessments (RCSAs), develop risk assessments, and conduct risk appetite monitoring with first-line stakeholders.
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of risk and compliance reporting to senior management, Board committees, and regulatory bodies as required.
- Monitor adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies, and manage potential breaches or concerns.
- Deliver training, guidance, and tools to first-line teams to build risk awareness and capability.
- Contribute to the development of the risk culture across the organisation.
- Conduct control testing and assurance activities.
- Support the Head of Compliance in ensuring regulatory and legislative obligations are conformed with and managing associated risk exposure.
