A prestigious Legal 500 firm based in Manchester is seeking an experienced Employment Solicitor with a minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience to join their dynamic Employment team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious solicitor looking to develop their career in employment law within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a varied caseload of employment matters acting for both respondents and claimants
- Advising employers and employees on employment tribunal claims including unfair dismissal, discrimination, and breach of contract
- Handling disciplinary and grievance procedures for corporate clients
- Representing claimants in pursuing employment tribunal claims
- Drafting employment contracts, policies, and procedures
- Advising on TUPE transfers and redundancy processes
- Conducting employment tribunal advocacy and representation for both sides
- Providing strategic HR advice to corporate clients
- Supporting business development initiatives and client relationship management
- Mentoring junior team members where appropriate
Key Requirements:
- Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 2 years' PQE in employment law
- Experience acting for both respondents and claimants in employment matters is desirable but not essential
- Experienced in dealing with a caseload of mixed matters including TUPE, unfair dismissal, settlement agreements and discrimination
- Outstanding drafting abilities and attention to detail
- Strong commercial awareness and client management skills
- Ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively to the team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proactive approach to business development
