Stobart are looking to hear from an experienced, forward-thinking Transport Coordinator to complement our strong team based in Carlisle. Working in collaboration with the Transport Manager, the role is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the site and driver workforce.
Working hours: Monday to Friday nights, 18:00 - 04:00 with a one hour unpaid break. Equivalent to 45 hours per week.
Salary: £30,000 per annum.
Key Duties of a Transport Coordinator:
- Report Vehicle/Trailer defects and escalate to the fleet department and relevant stakeholders.
- Complete daily risk assessments of yard and office.
- Ensure legal compliance by keeping track of working time directive for the driver workforce.
- Coordinate CPC driver records.
- Ensure customer demand is met by proactively managing driver resource vs vehicle requirements.
- Upkeep of vehicle allocation.
- Manage staff absence, new starter and leaver information.
- Handle driver holiday request submissions.
- Assist Transport Manager with the interview process for drivers.
- Ensure all personnel files are up to date.
- Manage driver expenses.
Qualifications:
- Transport experience in FMCG environment.
- Excellent communication skills in order to deliver accurate information.
- The ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
- Able to work as part of a team or individually.
- Be professional, approachable and helpful to ensure smooth running of the general operation.
- Knowledge & experience of tachograph/driving rules and regulations.
- Attention to detail/accuracy.
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Office packages.
- Effectively prioritise workload in order to meet set deadlines.
