PLC Software Engineer – South Yorkshire – £50-62.5k + overtime + private healthcare + flexi-time system Samuel Frank is recruiting an experienced PLC Software Engineer to join a rapidly expanding system integrator based in the South Yorkshire area. PLC Software Engineers with experience of writing code from scratch for a system integrator will be well suited to this opportunity. PLC Software Engineers applying for the role are likely to have experience in some of the following packages/areas – * Proven experience in developing PLC software for a range of major vendors e.g. Rockwell, GE or Siemens * SCADA experience across a range of manufacturers e.g. GE, Siemens, Rockwell * Ability to write high quality Functional Design Specifications * Functional Safety systems in accordance with IEC 61508 / 61511 * Good knowledge of communication protocols * Strong faultfinding on hardware and software * If you have experience of functional safety and developing systems in accordance with IEC 61508 / 61511, working with Information Management Systems and working offshore, then that would be advantageous but not essential. Key aspects of the PLC Software Engineer position include – * The Controls Manager estimates the role of the PLC Software Engineer will have an 80/20 split between working in the office and being based on customer sites * Offshore work is not an essential part of the role * All applicants must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship. * The successful PLC Software Engineer will work as part of a project team delivering control system projects to the client’s customer base.
