I'm currently working with a client who is looking to bring on board a Building Surveyor for a contract opportunity available on a freelance basis or as a 6-12 month fixed-term contract, depending on your preference and availability. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established team supporting a variety of building surveying and asset management projects. The role offers a flexible hybrid working model and the chance to work on a wide range of property types.
Key Responsibilities:- Conducting measured surveys and producing technical drawings using AutoCAD
- Carrying out condition surveys and preparing stock condition reports
- Diagnosing building defects and producing clear, actionable reports
- Managing small to mid-scale refurbishment, maintenance, and improvement projects
- Preparing schedules of condition, maintenance schedules, and cost estimates
- Supporting statutory compliance and health & safety documentation
- Collaborating with clients, consultants, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle
- Degree-qualified Building Surveyor (or equivalent experience)
- Strong AutoCAD skills and experience in measured and condition surveys
- Proven ability to produce detailed stock condition reports
- Solid understanding of building pathology and maintenance planning
- Comfortable managing own workload and working independently
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites as required
- Flexible engagement: freelance, 6-month, or 12-month contract
