Our Geo-Environmental & Mining (GEM) Business Unit comprises Land Quality, Ground Investigation, Groundwater & Geothermal and Mining disciplines undertaking a diverse range of projects across numerous sectors including Energy, Defence, Property & Government Services.
The successful candidate will become a member of this 100 strong Business Unit delivering focused solutions for our growing key client base, with emphasis on technical excellence, client care and effective project management. He or she will be working alongside other land quality, environmental due diligence, ground investigation, groundwater and geo-technical specialists to deliver holistic solutions to clients' needs in these areas. Additionally, the successful candidate will be collaborating with geo-environmental teams in other offices and with other specialists in the planning, environment and engineering teams.
Our Geo team undertakes a diverse range of projects across various sectors, to deliver geo-environmental consultancy services backed up by in-house ground investigation services. We have an opportunity for a Senior or Principal Geo-Environmental Consultant to join our Geo-environment team working in contaminated land, site investigation and brownfield redevelopment across a variety of market sectors including property & regeneration, defence estates, energy and transport. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to become part of the team with the opportunity to progress their career across a range of exciting projects.
- Project management, coordination of multi-discipline project teams
- Client management and development
- Assisting with the design, procurement, supervision and management of geotechnical and geo-environmental ground investigations.
- Undertaking desk top study assessments
- Accurate collection, analysis and interpretation of site data
- Producing detailed technical reports
- Undertaking ground gas & groundwater monitoring works and assessment
Qualifications/Skills:
- You will have a degree in geology, engineering geology, environmental science or related subject
- Several years post-graduate experience
- Project management experience and skills including coordination of a large project team, control and management of resources, quality, budget and programme while delivering works safely and to a high technical standard.
- You must have a good understanding of health, safety and environmental management.
- An understanding of current contaminated land technical guidance, Part 2A legislation and the development planning regime.
- Be a good communicator with evidence of having developed strong client relationships.
- An aptitude to drive and support the growth of our land quality business across the southwest, nationally and internally an advantage.
- You will be knowledgeable in current practice and governing standards/guidance for the investigation, assessment and remediation of contaminated land and must be able to produce Phase 1 geo-environmental desk top study reports incorporating preliminary risk assessment, supervise and manage ground investigation works and produce Phase 2 interpretative reports including qualitative and quantitative risk assessments.
