Business Development Manager (Maritime) – FTC
We’re delighted to bring you this role with a renowned international law firm, who are looking for a BD Manager to come in on a 12-month FTC, to support the Maritime sector within the business.
The firm itself is growing rapidly, with constant growth through their focused strategies, quality people, and excellent leadership. They view investment in people as vital to reaching their full goals and values, which depend on building deep, long-lasting relationships externally and internally through the values of respect, sharing, communication and integrity.
The global Business Development and Communications team, consisting of over 50 professionals, operates across our office jurisdictions. They collaborate on cross-border campaigns and global projects, maintaining a close-knit, supportive environment with an excellent firm-wide reputation.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Implementing and delivering the London Maritime sector Business Development and Marketing plan, providing advice on key initiatives.
- Developing and managing the London Maritime Business Development and Marketing budget, ensuring strategic alignment and ROI.
- Identifying and implementing sector-led campaigns to generate and grow business.
- Supporting and coaching partners in managing key clients, identifying growth opportunities, and providing strategic advice.
- Managing pitch opportunities, preparing documentation, coaching teams, and securing client feedback.
- Coaching partners and senior lawyers for client/prospect meetings, evaluating opportunities, and preparing collateral.
- Executing profile-raising activities through digital channels, events, conferences, directories, league tables, and awards.
- Staying informed on industry developments and market trends, providing business intelligence on competitors.
- Liaising with global Business Development and Communications team and other Business Functions to improve coordination and delivery of initiatives.
- Developing, championing, and implementing firmwide projects and systems, managing the London Maritime Business Development Executive, and mentoring junior team members.
About you:
- To be considered for this role, you should have proven experience in a similar, managerial position
- Experience within a law firm is highly preferable, however notable experience from a professional services firm may be considered
