We are currently working with a highly respected global consultancy as they look to add a Senior Facade Consultant to their rapidly growing London division.
The business in London currently consists of 42 talented individuals, with a view to grow to north of 50 before the end of 2024. This headcount growth is due to excellent repeat business requests and the winning of exciting new projects both here in the UK and across the Middle East. The current headcount in their Façade design team is 5 with plans to grow further with time.
In this role, you will report directly into the Technical Director of Facades, with overall responsibility for the delivery of projects, whilst also managing both the technical and commercial aspects of them. Additionally, you will be responsible for facade design engineering and build-ability consultancy, including material knowledge and installation techniques.
Responsibilities include:
- Independently managing complex projects and resolving complex project issues.
- Preparation of proposals and seeking and winning new work.
- Develop strong relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business as well as pursue new business opportunities and contribute to the commercial success of the division.
- Provide technical guidance, support, and mentoring to the more junior members of the team.
- Industry leadership through participation in industry professional groups and conferences.
- Working closely with clients to ensure an exemplary level of quality.
- Extensive project management.
- Working with our multidiscipline team to ensure coordinated outputs.
- Supporting the development of our Facade offering to the UK.
- Carry out site visits, inspections, attending PMU and site tests and reporting.
You will ideally have a degree in architecture, structural or mechanical engineering. An MSc in Facade Engineering would be an added bonus. To be successful in this role, you will ideally have five years of technical knowledge in facades within residential, commercial, and hotel sectors. Membership of the Society of Facade Engineering is preferred but not essential.
This role will suit someone committed to technical excellence, with strong industry knowledge and a commercial outlook with the self-drive and motivation to match. You will have a collaborative personality and be a driver of quality and innovation on projects. Experience managing multifaceted teams is also advantageous.

- Project management of complex (multi-disciplinary) projects.
- Resolution of complex technical issues on both new build and renovation remedial projects.
- Expertise in discipline with successful delivery of projects with a high level of positive customer feedback.
- Ability to guide and lead more junior team members and provide line management.
- Ability to successfully manage clients and develop client relationships.
- A thorough understanding of facade engineering and interdisciplinary design through all stages of the design process.
