WE Talent are hiring for a Finance Assistant – Finance Systems & Data, this role sits perfectly between accounts and IT - ideal for someone who’s confident with SQL and ERP systems and wants to get involved in streamlining and improving how finance works across a business. Our client is seeking a Finance Assistant – Finance Systems & Data to support the Finance Director with data analysis, process improvement, and ERP development, while also being hands-on in finance operations. You’ll play a vital part in bridging the gap between finance and systems. We’re open to considering an entry-level candidate who has some experience in accounts/finance and exposure to SQL, with a willingness to learn and grow into the role.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting the finance function with transactional tasks including invoice posting, coding, and journal entries
  • Work on a variety of finance and systems oriented projects
  • Analysing financial performance and business data to support decision-making
  • Developing and improving ERP system processes (ideally SAP Business One)
  • Acting as a finance systems super-user, helping others across the business with system use and queries
  • Writing and running SQL queries to extract, manipulate and analyse data from the ERP system
  • Providing finance systems support during busy periods and assisting with project work

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in finance, accounts or management accounting
  • Comfortable writing and troubleshooting SQL queries for data extraction and reporting
  • Experience working with ERP systems in a user or super-user capacity (SAP B1 desirable)
  • Strong Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables etc.)
  • A process-minded individual who enjoys improving systems and making finance more efficient
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both finance and IT stakeholders
  • Ideally part-qualified (AAT, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience
