Buying Coordinator Hybrid Working: 3 Days in Office, 2 Days from Home Salary: £28,000 per annum Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM Acorn by Synergie is seeking a Buying Coordinator to join a vibrant and forward-thinking team based near Swindon. About the Role: This position offers an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop or advance their career in procurement. While previous buying experience is highly advantageous, it is not essential. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and proficiency in Excel and other IT systems. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Procurement: Lead and manage the procurement of goods and services to deliver a competitive supply chain. Develop and oversee both strategic and operational procurement objectives to support commercial and operational goals. Team Leadership: Manage the procurement team and department, ensuring efficiency and alignment with company objectives. Provide mentorship and support to ensure team development and effectiveness. Supplier Management: Select suppliers, issue inquiries, and evaluate quotations for materials, equipment, and subcontractors. Negotiate and finalise contracts, including rebate agreements with key suppliers. Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure competitive pricing and service. Project Support: Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Project Quantity Surveyors and estimators to facilitate procurement processes. Assist in the selection and appointment of labor teams and subcontractors for specific projects. Ensure the timely procurement and delivery of equipment for key projects. Process Management: Monitor and evaluate the supply chain to maintain compliance with internal systems, processes, and health & safety requirements. Prepare material and goods schedules based on drawings and specifications. Report on pricing variations, supplier performance, and delivery targets. Key Requirements: Advanced proficiency in Excel. Qualification or partial qualification in CIPS, CIOB, or RICS (advantageous). Minimum education level: GCSEs. Full UK driving license (role location not accessible by public transport).
