Salary: £20.54 PAYE / £27 Umbrella per hour

Hours: 37.5 per week Monday to Friday (2 days in the office / 3 days from home)

We are looking for a Service Charge Coordinator to join a large housing association, you will provide exceptional front-line customer service and handle all aspects of service charge enquiries. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in service charge, reconciliation within a housing or local authority environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver responsive customer service for all service charge-related enquiries, ensuring alignment with service expectations and performance indicators.
  • Prepare and support documentation for formal challenges, including attending hearings as required.
  • Ensure all processes are effectively carried out in accordance with policies, procedures, and legislation.
  • Address and resolve service failures, complaints, and disputes while initiating and delivering service improvements.
  • Manage and set financial forecasts for service charge activities, liaising with relevant teams to highlight and address variances.
  • Provide expert advice on leasehold and service charge issues to customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Enhance income recovery by ensuring charges are accurately coded and allocated.

Personal Competencies, Skills, Experience, and Knowledge:

  • Strong service charge background within housing or local authority.
  • Strong background dealing with reconciliation.
  • Proactive, problem-solving attitude with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Coordinated and planned approach to work, addressing issues affecting service charge payers and colleagues.
  • In-depth knowledge of budget management and control measures.
  • Extensive experience and understanding of Service Charges, Housing, and Residential Property Management.
  • Familiarity with the legal and statutory framework related to home ownership, service charges, and legal case preparation for Courts and Tribunals.
