INTERNAL ONLY TO NORTH CUMBRIA INTEGRATED CARE NHS FOUNDATION TRUST (NCIC) EMPLOYEES Cardiology Procedural Nurse
We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Cardiology Departmental team and work as a procedural nurse. You should have post-registration experience of working within an acute medical setting, preferably with cardiology experience. Experience of working within cardiology investigations and procedures is desirable. Based at the Cumberland Infirmary, you will provide expert nursing care for patients with ischaemic, congenital, and valvular heart disease. You will be responsible for providing nursing support primarily during Stress Echo (DSE) but also some other cardiology procedures. You will also be responsible for running pre-assessment and consent clinics for pacemaker implants and other procedures. You will liaise with Consultant Cardiologists, Cardiac Physiologists, and other Cardiology Nurses.
Main duties of the job
- Provide nursing support during Stress Echo (DSE) and other cardiology procedures (TOE, Bubble, and contrast Echo).
- Run pre-assessment and consent clinics for pacemaker implants and other procedures.
- Provide nursing support to the Cardiology Department.

Qualifications
- First level Registered Nursing Qualification
- ENB 998/730 or D32 / 33 or equivalent
- ILS or equivalent
- ALS
- Qualification in Speciality
Experience
- Post Registration Medical Nursing with Acute and chronic disease management
- Clinical supervision, mentoring, and preceptorship
- Evidence of continuous professional development
- Expanded nursing role including cannulation, venepuncture, IV drug administration, and defibrillation
- Working within Cardiology Procedures.
- Mentor to pre-registration nursing students
Knowledge
- Cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
