Neos Engineering are partnered with a leading, fast-growing independent plant and tool hire company operating across multiple depots throughout the UK. Due to ongoing expansion and success, they are looking to appoint an experienced and motivated Depot Supervisor to join their high-performing team.
The Role
As a Depot Supervisor, you'll play a key part in the daily operation of the depot—serving customers at the trade counter, handling inbound enquiries, and managing stock and site presentation. You'll be expected to manage the yard staff, maintain control of stock levels, and uphold a high standard of health and safety across the depot.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing outstanding customer service face-to-face and over the phone
- Managing the presentation and organisation of the depot and hire equipment
- Overseeing stock management and supplier deliveries
- Driving upsell and cross-sell opportunities
- Handling customer quotes, complaints, and objections professionally
- Conducting Health & Safety walk rounds and ensuring PPE compliance
- Managing and supporting the Yard Person
The Candidate
You'll have a background in construction, plant hire, or tool hire. You must be proactive, customer-focused, and confident handling a fast-paced, sales-driven environment.
Key skills & competencies include:
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Ability to close sales and handle objections
- A competitive and proactive nature
- Experience using Syrinx (preferred) and good general computer literacy
- Strong team player with customer rapport-building ability
- Prior experience in a customer service or trade counter environment is desirable
