Support a dynamic property business with your finance expertise. ARK is delighted to be recruiting a part-time Finance Assistant on behalf of a long-established and respected property company based in Exeter. This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional to join a close-knit team and play a key role in ensuring accurate financial operations across the business.
Working alongside the Head of Finance, you’ll be responsible for a range of essential bookkeeping and accounting tasks, supporting monthly financial reporting, and maintaining high standards of accuracy and organisation.
What you’ll be doing:
- Assisting the Head of Finance with core accounting functions
- Managing both sales and purchase ledgers, including account reconciliation and entering journals
- Generating sales commission invoices and service charge demands
- Recording incoming payments and maintaining accurate billing records
- Handling supplier payments, recording bank transactions, and performing reconciliations
- Reconciling petty cash and company credit card usage
- Collating timesheets and expense claims for payroll
- Supporting the preparation of financial reports and providing admin support for ad-hoc projects
What we’re looking for:
- 2–3 years of experience in a finance or accounting role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and confidence handling ledgers and reconciliations
- Excellent Excel skills and ideally some experience with QuickBooks (preferred, not essential)
- Highly numerate with strong attention to detail
- A proactive, can-do attitude with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your own time effectively
- A degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is desirable but not essential
