Robert Walters have partnered with a premium asset manager who are seeking to hire a high-performing and elite Leveraged Finance associate in London who are seeking to make their first in-house move. This is a great opportunity for a lawyer with a passion for investments to advise on global transactions in a dynamic global organisation and become a true commercial partner.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Act as legal counsel to business teams, ensuring financing transactions are structured effectively and risks are managed.
- Work closely with the broader legal teams across multiple jurisdictions and advise on the deal; ensure attendance on relevant calls and meetings so workstreams can be progressed simultaneously.
- Advise on all legal aspects of financing and investment activities, including fund borrowing, leveraged acquisition financing, flow of funds, capital structuring and debt syndication.
- Draft, review, and negotiate financing contracts, including credit facilities, security agreements, intercreditor agreements and investor agreements.
What will make you successful in this role?
- A law degree with a qualification to practice law, ideally E&W or US.
- Ideally will have 3-6 years of PQE at an elite law firm or in-house at a leading fund manager or financial institution, with a focus on leveraged finance, specifically in private equity or corporate finance transactions.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate, structure, and execute complex financing agreements.
- Solid experience advising on capital structuring and managing legal risks in private equity and portfolio company transactions.
- Strong understanding of financing instruments, investment fund structures, and regulatory frameworks affecting private equity transactions.
