Desktop Support Analyst / Application Support Analyst – Investment Management / Trading

Our client is an Investment Management company based in central London and has a requirement for an IT Support Analyst. The IT Support team\’s primary responsibility is providing premium support for Fixed Income & Equity applications, including both proprietary applications developed internally and third-party vendors. The team serves as a single point of contact for problem resolution, process management, and customer follow-up for all technology-related client issues and requests.

The role would suit a Graduate who has several years commercial experience in an IT support / Desktop Support role. The client is open to candidates who have previous trading environment experience or those wishing to transition into this area. Experience of supporting financial applications would be advantageous but is not essential.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Experience supporting a production trading floor (preferred).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Superb client-facing skills – must be respected and liked by customers.
• Remain calm under pressure while maintaining the correct level of urgency and focus.
• Work effectively with teams and customers in multiple locations, including the US, UK, and Asia.
• Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and problem management skills. Must be logical, effective at triage, able to diagnose root causes, and escalate and follow-up as necessary.
• Knowledge of electronic trading and FIX protocol (preferred)
• Knowledge of Linux
• Strong SQL skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Knowledge of Order Management Systems (OMS) and Market Structure (preferred)
• Financial Services Industry Knowledge (5+ Years)
• Experience in Trading, Portfolio Management, and Research (preferred)
• Familiarity with financial applications such as Bloomberg and Newport (preferred)
• Proficient in applications such as Excel, Outlook/Exchange, and Windows Desktop
• Knowledge of Remote Access products and products such as Citrix, Xen, Blade, VDIs
• Experience with desktop and trade floor moves and changes.
• Hardware break-fix
• Server room management
• PC build and rollout
• Market data applications experience, such as Bloomberg, Factset, Tradeweb, etc.
• General infrastructure knowledge, e.g., Cisco and Microsoft servers
• ITIL Foundation
• Scripting experience with PowerShell.
• Coding experience with Python.
• Report building experience with Power BI.
• Understanding of AI tools and models.
