Location: Bristol or Edinburgh (Hybrid - Minimum 2 days per week in the office)

Summary of the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented Reconciliations Analyst to join a collaborative finance operations team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a great opportunity to work across core reconciliation activities, helping ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records. The Reconciliations team plays a crucial role in maintaining financial accuracy through processing payments, receipts, and distributions. As part of this team, you will support key reconciliation activities such as ledger balancing, daily sign-offs, journal entries, and discrepancy investigations. You will also collaborate with operational teams and contribute to the overall financial control environment.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Perform end-to-end reconciliations for bank accounts, suspense accounts, and ledger entries
  • Balance ledgers daily and complete sign-offs before submission
  • Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies and respond to operational queries
  • Complete weekly journal entries and support monthly reconciliation activities
  • Ensure internal deadlines and service level agreements are consistently met
  • Collaborate with colleagues across locations in a hybrid working environment

What We Are Looking For

  • 1-2 years of experience in financial services, accountancy, or banking reconciliations
  • Confidence to independently investigate and resolve large financial entries
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities
  • Familiarity with systems such as BaNCS or similar financial platforms (desirable)
  • Comfortable working under deadlines in a fast-paced setting
