Our client in Surrey is an acute NHS Trust who are seeking an excellent permanent Electrical Estates Officer to be professionally accountable for the Trust’s estates maintenance service and will lead and develop the cross functional maintenance team in delivering a fit for purpose, customer focussed service and provide robust assurance and audit arrangements to demonstrate compliance to relevant standards and legal compliance. Key responsibilities include: Responsible for the effective management of the Planned, Reactive and Remedial maintenance services to the Trust. Ensuring accurate records and oversight and effective planning of all activities to ensure compliance and excellent customer care. Act as the Trust’s Authorised Person for Electrical Infrastructure, Lifts and Water system and engagement with the Trust’s Authorising Engineers. Have the ability to monitor, improve and maintain plant and equipment in a busy acute hospital site. Develop clear standards and a consistent approach to managing and operating the facilities. This will include environmental maintenance and ‘front of house’ services that play such an important part in the patient experience. Responsible for the implementation of all Operational Health & Safety policies and protocols, ensuring that working practices comply with these in both spirit and practice. Ensure that all Trust Management and personnel policies are cascaded to all staff and implementation is both consistent and effective throughout the Estates Department. The successful candidate will be an Incorporated-level Engineer or have equivalent Professional membership of a relevant professional body – Mechanical & Electrical Engineers Institutes (IMechE, CIBSE), IHEEM or the Institute of marine engineers. You will have a HND in Electrical Engineering or Building Services or equivalent experience. Our client is looking for minimum 5 years operational experience at management level to include management of a directly employed labour force and Estates/Engineering/Building Contracts. You will have a good understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act and legislation affecting Estates and Buildings. This permanent opportunity is offering £46,148 – £52,809 per annum, depending on experience.
