Location: HPS Aldershot
Salary: Negotiable DOE + Profit Share
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
About Us:
At HPS Aldershot, we are part of the largest independent networks of plumbing and heating merchants in the UK – over 320 sites nationwide. Our sites are run by people who know their customers, their stock, and their local market. That’s because we give them autonomy and ownership – not a one-size-fits-all script.
About the Role
This isn’t just a support role – it’s a springboard. We’re looking for a driven, commercially focused Assistant Site Manager who’s ready to step up, lead from the front, and make their mark.
You’ll work side-by-side with the Business Manager to run one of our merchant sites at HPS Aldershot. We operate a decentralised model, which means our sites run with real autonomy – and we’re looking for someone ready to take responsibility, make decisions, and push the business forward.
If you’re ambitious, hands-on, and want a role with real responsibility, this is your opportunity.
What You’ll Be Doing
·Taking ownership of day-to-day operations and performance across the site
·Leading, motivating, and supporting the team across sales, warehouse, and delivery
·Working closely with the Site Manager to set local strategy and drive revenue
·Building relationships with trade customers and ensuring outstanding service
·Managing stock, purchasing, pricing, and site standards with a commercial eye
·Stepping in confidently to run the site in the Manager’s absence
·Getting stuck in wherever needed – this is a hands-on leadership role
What We’re Looking For
·Proven experience in a merchant or trade environment (plumbing & heating preferred)
·Strong leadership qualities and a clear sense of accountability
·Commercial awareness – you understand margin, stock movement, and cost control
·Natural communicator with confidence in customers, suppliers, and team settings
·Someone who thrives in a fast-paced, physical environment
·A forward-thinker who wants to grow into a full Site Manager role
·Full UK driving licence (essential)
Why Join Us
·Real responsibility – no micromanagement, no red tape
·A permanent, full-time role with a genuine pathway to Site Manager
·Profit share based on your site’s performance
·Training and product support to help you succeed
·Be part of a growing national group that still runs on local decision-making
