In House Legal Director – Head of Legal – Corporate Commercial – 8+pqe
We have been retained to work on an exciting new role by our client, a global conglomerate in the automotive industry , with thousands of locations in over a dozen countries.
The client is looking for a Legal Director, Head of Legal based in Buckinghamshire to lead their legal team and to play a pivotal role in the legal landscape, focusing on their international footprint.
As Head of Legal you will:
- Oversee all legal operations for the business.
- Provide legal guidance on business development and change projects, collaborating with key stakeholders.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and finalise commercial contracts, including agreements with local operators, marketing partnerships, and promotional terms.
- Advise on employment-related issues.
- Support real estate matters, including leases and property agreements.
- Manage disputes, litigation, supplier negotiations, and report litigation updates to senior leadership.
- Assist with promotions, loyalty programs, and digital marketing initiatives, including drafting terms and reviewing materials.
- Advise on operational model changes and business development strategies.
- Oversee corporate governance, including Board minutes, shareholder resolutions, and regulatory filings.
- Direct compliance, risk management, and environmental, health, and safety processes.
- Manage data privacy compliance across jurisdictions.
- Oversee the intellectual property portfolio.
- Coordinate and manage external legal counsel.
You will have at least 8 years’ experience and have proven skills in:
- Corporate and Commercial law from a top tier private practice law firm or have relevant in-house experience.
- Experience of international transactions and knowledge of marketing law, employment, or data privacy.
- Multi-national experience required.
You will be part of a collaborative and supportive legal team, working closely with senior business leaders. You will be offered a fast-paced environment and your commercial background and strong business acumen will encourage you to manage multiple priorities.
