A key role in shaping innovative products that define the future of UK industry and infrastructure. As part of the Product Team, you’ll work on the development of cutting-edge products, managing their lifecycle from user insights and market demands to performance measurement and new feature propositions.
This hands-on role involves advancing proofs of concept (PoCs) and minimum viable products (MVPs) toward market readiness while driving best practices in product management. You’ll collaborate across teams—including UX, Solution Architecture, and Business Development—and mentor both your team and startups.
With direct line management responsibilities, you’ll develop your team and ensure resources align with priorities. This is your chance to make an impact in a fast-moving organisation at the forefront of emerging digital technologies.
WHAT YOU’LL DO (Duties)
- Oversee the delivery and success of your products and those of your team, including line management and mentorship of Product Managers.
- Act as the showrunner for projects, defining tasks and ensuring delivery from both direct and indirect reports.
- Contribute to the development of the company’s product strategy and improved product management practices.
- Collaborate with other teams to maximise product awareness and support Business Development in creating commercial opportunities.
- Conduct competitor analysis and promote the integration of user insights throughout the product lifecycle.
- Represent Digital Catapult at external events, conferences, and meet-ups to evangelise its innovation, technology, and products.
Minimum Requirements
- Proven Product Management Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience managing products throughout their lifecycle, including requirement gathering, user and market testing, go-to-market strategy, and commercialisation.
- Collaborative Leadership: Strong track record of managing and mentoring skilled product managers, working effectively with cross-functional teams (UX, Marketing, Development, Business Development) in complex, matrix environments.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Exceptional ability to manage diverse stakeholders, communicate complex ideas clearly, and ensure alignment across internal and external teams.
- Agile Delivery Skills: Experience with Agile methodologies, including sprint planning and tools like JIRA, to deliver prioritised, customer-focused features iteratively.
- Strategic Vision & Mentorship: A natural evangelist for user insights and continuous improvement, with a passion for mentoring junior team members and contributing to organisational product strategy.
