Source Solutions are working with a trusted and reputable employer in Portsmouth, to recruit a Quality Inspection Technician, to uphold continual quality standards within their machining department, joining the busy team on a permanent basis at their main site in Portsmouth. The Quality Inspection Technician is a key role in the finishing process and so training will be provided on any relevant equipment and techniques if required - most important is a keen eye for detail and strong communication skills with an ability to work well in a close team.

As Quality Inspection Technician, you will be working mostly with products received from the turning team within the machine shop. These will be very small products and you will be responsible for ensuring that they meet specification and company/regulatory quality standards whilst assisting in finishing or any re-works required.

Quality Inspection Technician responsibilities:

  • Visual & mechanical inspection – on large batch orders
  • Swarf removal – from completed components
  • Re-work Management – identifying any defective components and managing re-working
  • Precision-cleaning machine operation
  • Last off inspection – ensuring quality standards are met before releasing products

Quality Inspection Technician Profile:

  • Experience within a busy machine/workshop or manufacturing environment
  • Excellent eye for detail
  • Personable and able to integrate into a team
  • (Not essential) Ideally some form of experience with visual or mechanical inspection (using vernier, micrometres etc)
