  • Program with Precision: Use Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 and Siemens TIA Portal to craft solutions using structured text and object-oriented programming principles.
  • Collaborate Across Disciplines: Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to ensure seamless integration of control systems.
  • Develop for Scalability: Build modular, reusable code libraries that adhere to rigorous standards and version control workflows (Git/Git Flow).
  • Documentation Done Right: Generate clear, comprehensive documentation to empower third parties to independently commission and maintain systems.
  • Hands-On Delivery: Commission systems in production environments, providing remote and occasional on-site support.
  • Design for the End User: Create systems maintainable by non-specialist operators, even in challenging maritime conditions.
  • Ensure Safety and Standards: Program safety functions with compliance to relevant standards, and work with drives, sensors, and actuators to deliver robust control behaviours.
  • Support and Evolve: Participate in lifecycle support, providing updates and enhancements as needed.

What You Bring:

  • Educational Foundation: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Technical Mastery: Expertise in PLC programming with Beckhoff (TwinCAT 3) and Siemens (TIA Portal).
  • Programming Excellence: Strong skills in structured text and object-oriented programming.
  • Version Control Expertise: Proficiency with Git and Git Flow practices.
  • Proven Experience: Track record of commissioning systems in production environments with a focus on usability and reliability.
  • Safety and Support: Experience programming safety PLCs and implementing safety-critical functions.
  • System Knowledge: Familiarity with electronic drives, sensors, actuators, and hydraulic or pneumatic systems.
  • Team-Oriented: Collaborative mindset and experience with peer reviews, technical documentation, and agile tools like Jira.

Preferred Extras:

  • Practical understanding of production support and end-user needs.
  • Willingness to travel for commissioning and operational reviews.
  • A passion for sustainability and innovation.
  • Thrives in a small, high-performing team environment.
