Our work in Europe covers the European Union (EU) institutions and executive agencies, national governments and commercial clients, and spans many policy areas, including employment, justice, home affairs, education & training, social inclusion, citizenship, energy, climate and environment.
We provide programme/network support and technical assistance to the EU institutions, particularly the European Commission Directorate Generals, as well as governmental bodies in the UK.
Description of the project
The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the building of a close and stable partnership with the UK supporting the promotion of EU values, policies and priorities. It will include improving the EU’s engagement with key target audiences and potential partners across the UK (e.g. young people, academics, think tanks, civil society, social partners, media, the business community, sportspeople and the cultural sector, local communities including EU citizens in the UK) to support the EU policy agenda.

Qualifications and Skills
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree) in a discipline relevant to the scope of the assignment such as public relations, public diplomacy, communication, or equivalent relevant professional experience (i.e. minimum 4 years of professional experience in public diplomacy, or public relations, or communication, or visibility, in addition to the minimum 10 years of general professional experience in public diplomacy, or public relations, or communication, or visibility mentioned below);
- Fluency in English;
General Professional Experience
- Minimum 10 years of general professional experience in public diplomacy, or public relations, or communication, or visibility.
Specific Professional Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience as head of Public Diplomacy project(s) in EU external relations in middle and high income countries (included in the 10 years of general professional experience);
- Working experience in the UK relevant to the scope of this contract will be considered a strong asset.
The expert must be independent and free from conflicts of interest in the responsibilities they take on.
