Role Overview
As Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for managing multiple live sites across the Essex area. You’ll oversee all aspects of project delivery, ensuring quality, safety, and cost-efficiency while leading and supporting site teams. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee delivery of multiple groundworks and enabling projects across the region
- Manage site teams, subcontractors, plant and materials to meet programme targets
- Ensure strict compliance with health & safety standards and company procedures
- Coordinate with commercial, engineering, and procurement teams to optimise delivery
- Maintain strong communication with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders
- Resolve site issues proactively and drive projects to successful completion
- Review project performance and manage risk, cost, and resource planning
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Demonstrable experience as a Contracts Manager or Senior Project Manager in groundworks or enabling works
- Solid technical knowledge of drainage, foundations, earthworks, and infrastructure
- Strong leadership and site coordination skills
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid qualifications
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Experience working with Tier 1 contractors or developers
- Background in civil engineering or site management
- Strong commercial acumen and familiarity with project costing and planning tools
