Principal Planning Engineer

Full-time, Contract or Permanent  40 hours/week Competitive (DOE) We’re recruiting a commercially astute and confident Principal Planning Engineer to lead project planning across major contracts, from early-stage development to construction delivery. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic team and support both operational planning and team growth as project volumes increase. Key Responsibilities: Lead planning activity under the Project Controls Manager’s guidance. Build and manage accurate project schedules across all phases. Monitor progress, manage changes, and produce key reports. Perform risk assessments and \’what-if\’ schedule analysis. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure delivery alignment. Support planning team recruitment as new projects scale. Requirements: Essential: Full project lifecycle experience (engineering to handover). Strong grasp of time, cost, and commercial interdependencies. Confident using planning software and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Skilled in Earned Value Analysis (EVA). Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership abilities. Desirable: Experience in regulated environments. Membership of ACostE, APM, or similar
