This is an advert for a Grade 4 Welsh-medium Teaching Assistant post at Ysgol Gymraeg Cwmbrân.
Applications are invited from an enthusiastic and conscientious individual for a Learning Support Assistant position at Ysgol Gymraeg Cwmbrân. The ability to speak Welsh fluently is essential to provide a solid linguistic base for the pupils.
Working under the direction and guidance of teachers and / or members of the school leadership team, there will be an opportunity for the successful candidate to:
- Work with a team of dedicated and hardworking staff.
- Assist in the general organisation of the classroom and may include:
- Preparing the classroom, receiving pupils in the morning, organising and preparing materials, setting up and clearing equipment.
- Maintenance of resources and equipment used in activities.
- Provide support to individuals and groups of pupils to ensure access to learning.
- Assist the teacher in evaluating pupils\’ progress and record keeping in accordance with school policy and practices.
- Assist and supervise pupils in the playground and offer support for play outside the classroom as needed.
- Provide basic first aid as needed.
One of the qualifications below is an advantage, but we welcome applications from candidates with no qualifications that would be willing to receive training whilst on the job.
