General Description: Use a John Deere 8000 series tractor pulling an implement. Driving a water truck with side booms. The water truck is intended to groom the track surface for racing and training. Willing to train.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Operate tractor to maintain racetrack
  • Daily inspection of equipment. Maintain full oil, water, hydraulic and other fluid levels in all equipment.
  • Hook and unhook implements to tractor.
  • Report needed repairs to superintendent or mechanic.
  • Minor maintenance such as setting harrows, greasing implements, replacing parts.
  • Assist mechanic or supervisors in maintenance shop.
  • Water truck driver: Operate water truck to maintain racetrack.
  • Daily inspection of equipment. Maintain oil, water, hydraulic and other fluid levels in all equipment.
  • Report needed repairs to superintendent or mechanic.
  • Minor maintenance such as checking and cleaning nozzles, greasing vehicles or implements.
  • Assist mechanic or supervisor in maintenance shop.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Willing to train.

Work Environment, Communication & Physical Abilities: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving horses. Occasionally work in wet weather conditions. Work under close supervision of Track Superintendent.

Tools & Equipment: Equipment, vehicles, and tools used for farming, landscaping, and racetrack maintenance, use two-way radios.
