Overview This is a prestigious opportunity to contribute to the upgrade of London’s critical highway infrastructure under the wider Transport for London (TfL) programme. This is a contract position paying a competitive rate.  Contract Duration: 02/06/2025 – 30/09/2025 Key Responsibilities Deliver complex civil engineering works focused on highway structures refurbishment. Lead and manage site activities, ensuring compliance with safety, programme, and cost requirements. Coordinate with the client and stakeholders to resolve logistical and engineering challenges. Manage extensive traffic management operations and maintain operational flow through restricted periods. Participate in a rota system, potentially including night shifts and weekend work to meet embargo deadlines during the summer period. About the Project The Gallows Corner works represent a complete superstructure removal and replacement, requiring a skilled and adaptable team due to its critical importance and constrained urban setting. These upgrades form a vital component of Transport for London’s asset renewal strategy. Candidate Profile We are looking for qualified Civil Engineers with a proven background in highway and structural refurbishment projects. The ideal candidate will bring: Practical experience in managing and delivering complex infrastructure refurbishments, particularly in high traffic environments. Strong leadership and communication skills to interface with client representatives and stakeholders. Ability to manage site constraints, including traffic, safety, and urban logistics. Essential Qualifications & Experience Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent. Working toward Chartered Civil Engineer status (ICE or equivalent). Progressing toward a Project Management qualification (APM or similar). Demonstrated experience with traffic management, stakeholder engagement, and delivery under pressure.
