Are you a Component Marker & Packer seeking a new opportunity to grow your career? ASL Technical are now working with a leading engineering and manufacturing company as they look to expand their Component Marker & Packer team.

Main Purpose of Component Marker & Packer: To undertake the marking and packaging of components to ensure correct identification, traceability, and protection of parts from potential damage. This includes interpreting technical drawings, applying marking techniques such as ink marking and laser engraving, and preparing components for safe despatch.

Responsibilities of Component Marker & Packer:

  • Mark components and assemblies using various methods in line with engineering drawings.
  • Pack and label parts correctly, ensuring they are prepared in accordance with procedures and accompanied by relevant documentation.
  • Interpret assembly drawings, route cards, and work instructions to accurately identify part numbers, drawing revisions, and specifications.
  • Use SAP transactions relevant to the role.
  • Undertake self-inspection and quality checks in line with quality standards and apply an inspector's stamp if authorised.
  • Ensure all processes are completed to required standards, health and safety regulations, and work schedules.
  • Handle materials carefully to avoid damage and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Monitor and maintain tools and equipment in good condition.
  • Report any unsafe practices or faulty equipment.
  • Support lean initiatives including 5S activities and continuous improvement programmes.
  • Carry out general housekeeping and cleaning duties as required.

Experience / Knowledge for the Component Marker & Packer:

  • Essential:
  • Previous experience in basic production packing within a similar environment.
  • Basic understanding of Health & Safety procedures.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • GCSE level education or equivalent.
  • Methodical, accurate, and capable of following standard operating procedures.
  • Self-starter with good teamwork and communication skills.
  • Desirable:
    • Prior experience using SAP systems.
    • Exposure to lean manufacturing practices.
    • Experience in marking components (ink marking, laser engraving).
