About the role
Due to continued growth and expansion, we are looking for a dynamic and experienced individual to lead our Clinical Negligence Department based in Hull. You will be working alongside our Head of Clinical Negligence Department in Manchester reporting directly to our National Heads of Department. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact within a progressive and supportive firm to drive growth and operational excellence across the team.
The successful candidate will have at least 10 years’ experience in clinical negligence law, including managing high-value and complex cases with proven leadership and team management skills and a passion for client care. Ideally the candidate will also need to meet the criteria for Law Society Clinical Negligence Accreditation or AvMA Specialist Clinical Negligence Panel accreditation, and be capable of meeting the requirements to supervise legally aided work.
What you will be doing
- Develop and execute the strategic plan for the Clinical Negligence Department.
- Day-to-day management of the department.
- Overseeing training and supervision of the department.
- Overseeing the financial performance of the department.
- Overseeing complex, high-value clinical negligence cases, providing technical expertise and support to team members and acting as the lead solicitor on high-profile cases.
- Responsible for the department’s achievement of agreed targets and key performance indicators.
What we will need from you
- Qualified solicitor or barrister with at least 10 years PQE in clinical negligence law.
- Sufficient experience to obtain Law Society/AvMA panel membership.
- Budget management experience with the ability to sustain and enhance profitability.
- Exceptional leadership, communication and business development skills.
- A commitment to maintaining high professional standards and fostering a collaborative team culture.
