Role Title: Head of Group Reporting

Location: Wimbledon (Hybrid)

Contract Type: Permanent

We have a great opportunity for a Head of Group Reporting in our UK Finance department. This is a key role in the financial reporting team, with responsibility for leading the production of the Groups’ Annual Report & Accounts, monthly reporting to D&G’s owners and leading finance change including identifying areas for improvement. As part of leading the production of the Annual Report & Accounts, the role will interact with our key stakeholders and ensure delivery of content and to seek and address feedback as part of the reporting process.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  1. Oversight of the monthly Group consolidation process
  2. Lead the day-to-day management of monthly and annual reporting process with BAU divisional teams to ensure reporting is timely and in line with requirements
  3. Ownership of the production of the Group (IFRS) Annual Report and Accounts including compliance with all reporting requirements – e.g. Strategic Review
  4. Ownership of the production of Holdco subsidiary statutory accounts
  5. Own and prepare the relevant finance accounting papers for the Group Audit & Risk Committee (‘ARC’)
  6. Liaise with Company Secretarial to agree the Group ARC agenda and liaise with external auditor as required
  7. Lead the quarterly financial reporting in line with external debt obligations
  8. Lead the day-to-day relationship with external audit team
  9. Ensure the Group is compliant with all relevant accounting technical pronouncements and standards including horizon scanning and preparation of accounting papers as required, liaise with external audit etc.
  10. Lead delivery of timely, accurate financial information and analysis as required
  11. Lead the optimization of Workday for financial reporting including identifying areas for improvement and working with Divisional finance teams
  12. Lead embedding the new IFRS 17 process into Finance BAU
  13. Oversight BVCA / Walker reporting as appropriate
  14. Ensuring appropriate financial controls and processes are in place throughout the Group including embedding of the new D&G Financial Reporting Control Framework (‘FRCF’)
  15. Identify areas for improvement in the financial reporting process and lead the required change as appropriate
  16. Assist with ad hoc finance projects and provide support to Director of Corporate Finance as required
  17. Development and coaching of the Group Reporting and Accounts Payable teams
  18. Be a key member of the GFC leadership team and support wider Finance initiatives e.g. Engagement etc.
  19. Oversight of the Accounts payable/credit control team including optimization of use of the Workday Purchase to Pay (P2P) module
  20. Preparation of financial information required for potential exit (IPO, trade, secondary)

Skills and experience required:

  1. Role requires the holder to be a qualified accountant (ACA) with experience of financial reporting.
  2. Strong accounting knowledge (IFRS, UK GAAP and Companies Act, with a good understanding of the regulations governing financial reporting)
  3. Able to make sound day to day accounting decisions and solve accounting issues and problems
  4. Experience of working with senior stakeholders is critical, together with managing a team.
  5. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information simply to non-finance stakeholders
  6. Able to demonstrate good attention to detail, good judgment showing logical decision making, and a hands-on approach
  7. Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  8. Extensive experience of Group reporting and consolidation
  9. Strong preference for the role holder to have insurance experience including IFRS 17
  10. Strong leadership skills and experiencing of managing and developing teams
  11. Develop and manage relationships across the business
  12. Ability to operate in a dynamic environment
  13. Ability to identify and lead/support change
