We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a thriving secondary school in Belper. This is a fantastic opportunity to support students across KS3 and KS4 in a dynamic and supportive educational setting.
We are looking for a passionate Secondary Teaching Assistant to provide in-class support and help students access the curriculum. In this Temp to Perm role, you will play a key part in promoting positive behaviour, academic progress, and student wellbeing in a secondary school environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Support teaching staff with lesson delivery across a range of subjects.
- Provide targeted support to individuals or small groups, including those with SEN or EAL.
- Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and classroom setup.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Support behaviour management strategies in line with school policy.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to meet student needs.
- Supervise students during non-teaching times, such as break and lunch.
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience working with secondary-aged students in an educational or youth setting.
- Qualifications: A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff. Adaptable, proactive, and committed to supporting student development.
- DBS Check: All applicants must undergo an enhanced DBS check (Child Workforce) prior to working if not already in possession of one registered to the update service. The cost of a DBS may be passed to the applicant.
