We are seeking a Deputy Manager for our 5-bedded EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties) children's home located in the Bristol area. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive and forward-thinking team dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Registered Manager in the daily operations and management of the home.
- Provide leadership, supervision, and support to the staff team.
- Ensure the home consistently meets OFSTED regulations and quality standards.
- Promote a safe, nurturing, and positive environment for young people to thrive.
- Assist in developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Oversee safeguarding practices and ensure robust reporting systems are in place.
- Lead shifts and manage staff rotas effectively.
- Contribute to staff development through mentoring, training, and performance reviews.
- Build strong relationships with children, families, professionals, and external agencies.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with policies and procedures.
- Promote independence and life skills development among the young residents.
About You:
- NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People (or equivalent) β essential.
- Preferably 1 year of experience as a Deputy Manager in a children's residential setting.
- Excellent knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and OFSTED standards.
- Strong leadership skills with a hands-on, proactive approach.
- A positive, resilient, and compassionate attitude.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A full UK driving licence β essential due to the homeβs location.
