We are seeking a Deputy Manager for our 5-bedded EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties) children's home located in the Bristol area. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive and forward-thinking team dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Registered Manager in the daily operations and management of the home.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and support to the staff team.
  • Ensure the home consistently meets OFSTED regulations and quality standards.
  • Promote a safe, nurturing, and positive environment for young people to thrive.
  • Assist in developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Oversee safeguarding practices and ensure robust reporting systems are in place.
  • Lead shifts and manage staff rotas effectively.
  • Contribute to staff development through mentoring, training, and performance reviews.
  • Build strong relationships with children, families, professionals, and external agencies.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Promote independence and life skills development among the young residents.

About You:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People (or equivalent) – essential.
  • Preferably 1 year of experience as a Deputy Manager in a children's residential setting.
  • Excellent knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and OFSTED standards.
  • Strong leadership skills with a hands-on, proactive approach.
  • A positive, resilient, and compassionate attitude.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A full UK driving licence – essential due to the home’s location.
