Are you a dynamic and experienced Works Manager with a strong engineering and heavy welding background? Ready to take the lead in a growing production environment? We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a Works Manager to join a well-established and expanding boiler manufacturing business based in Bradford. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of day-to-day production operations and drive continuous improvement across systems, processes, and teams.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A background in steam and hot water boiler systems, with extensive knowledge of boiler maintenance and operation.
  • Significant hands-on experience in heavy & light welding applications, ideally within a boiler or pressure vessel manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant standards such as BS EN ISO 9606-1 and other welding codes.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage production teams effectively.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualified (essential).
  • Proficient in MS Office and confident using reporting and documentation tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily production activities, ensuring efficient operation of systems and adherence to processes.
  • Lead and support Charge Hands and production teams to ensure high-quality output and operational consistency.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety procedures, promoting a safe and proactive work culture.
  • Uphold and enforce robust quality control standards across all production activities.
  • Conduct regular toolbox talks, team briefings, and maintain clear, effective communication across all shifts.
  • Attend Contract Review Meetings and liaise with external inspectors and notified bodies as needed.
  • Manage Life Time Records/documentation packs from creation to delivery, ensuring full customer compliance.
