Three Shires Ltd are specialist contractors to the Construction, Rail, Utilities, Highways, and Civil Infrastructure sectors. For the last 21 years, Three Shires has developed long-standing relationships with the UK’s leading House Builders, Construction Contractors, Civil Engineers, Developers, Environmental and Ecological Consultants. Our services include Ecological, Vegetation Clearance, Invasive Weed, Forestry, Site Hoarding and Fencing; we also undertake all other aspects of site enablement.
We are looking to recruit an Invasive Weed Technician. The successful candidate must be able to work within a team and have the ability to use their own initiative. You would also need to be within commuting distance of Melton Mowbray, and the role will require candidates to work in all regions of the UK.
Key responsibilities:
- Various control techniques of Invasive Non-Native Plants such as Japanese knotweed, Giant Hogweed, Himalayan Balsam and Rhododendron
- Invasive Weed treatment and removal as required
- Root barrier installs as required
- General labouring to assist with Invasive weed removal as required
- Invasive Weed Surveys and Inspections
- Other general duties, as project needs require
Skills and Experience:
- Hold a valid CSCS card
- PA1 and PA6 Spraying Licence
- CSJK qualification (the company will assist in gaining accreditation)
- UK Driving Licence
- Knapsack spraying of pesticides
- Horticultural knowledge (preferable but not essential)
- Basic landscaping knowledge (preferable but not essential)
