About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Goods In/Despatch Operative to join a well-established manufacturing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a clean, modern facility with excellent amenities, including a well-equipped canteen and free on-site parking. This position plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of our Goods-Inward and Despatch departments. You’ll be responsible for overseeing incoming manufacturing part deliveries, ensuring they are correctly identified, processed, and allocated to the right departments. Your contribution will directly support the flow of production and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to all despatch and goods-in procedures within company guidelines
- Receive and check incoming stock and materials
- Ensure accurate cross-referencing of batch numbers against despatch paperwork
- Package and prepare items for despatch according to customer and company requirements
- Operate within stock control and warehouse management systems
- Support the day-to-day operations of the despatch and goods-in departments
- Perform material handling tasks using a Counterbalance FLT (when needed)
- Carry out additional duties as directed by the Supervisor or Line Manager
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in both Goods In and Despatch is essential
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic IT proficiency, especially within warehouse management systems
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Counterbalance Forklift Licence (advantageous but not essential)
- High level of English comprehension for reading documentation and cross-checking data
