About the Role: On behalf of our client, a leading player in the electrical engineering sector, we are currently recruiting for an experienced Application Engineer to join their Glasgow-based team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a strong technical background and a passion for customer-focused solutions to play a key role in the delivery of bespoke engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the sales function by identifying customer needs and formulating technical proposals.
- Deliver pre-sales technical assistance, addressing detailed queries regarding product capabilities.
- Participate in client meetings to ensure proposed solutions meet both technical and commercial requirements.
- Occasionally lead technical presentations and product demonstrations.
- Assess technical application of both in-house and third-party products to determine optimal solutions.
- Provide ongoing technical support post-sale, ensuring any issues are swiftly resolved.
- Liaise with engineering, production, and customer service teams to ensure projects are delivered to specification.
Candidate Requirements:
- HNC or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline, ideally electrical.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a technical sales or applications engineering role; exposure to switchgear or power distribution products is advantageous.
- Technically astute with the ability to understand and explain complex concepts clearly.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
