We\’re seeking a Principal Optical Engineer to play a key role in the research, design, and development of next-generation InfraRed (IR) products. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative projects that have real-world impact, working alongside talented multi-disciplinary teams and engaging with customers across the UK. Key Accountabilities – Principal Optical Engineer + Lead and support activities across the full product lifecycle-from concept through to manufacture. + Define system architectures and develop advanced optical and lens designs. + Conduct detailed analyses and performance simulations of optical systems. + Support integration, alignment, and testing of complex optical systems. + Deliver engineering solutions that account for Design for Manufacture, Assembly, and Test (DFMAT). + Collaborate closely with customers and suppliers, providing technical input and building strong working relationships. + Operate effectively within integrated project teams (IPTs), contributing to a collaborative and innovative engineering environment
