We are seeking a highly motivated, professional, and experienced individual to fill the vital dual role of Area Lead and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead in the Clacton area. This position is integral to both the operational success of our Clacton team and the unwavering commitment to safeguarding our young people.

Responsibilities:

  • As Area Lead, you will be a central figure of the senior team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality support to students. This involves:
  • Leading and managing your team.
  • Tracking and evaluating student progress.
  • Streamlining administrative duties.
  • Fostering effective communication with families and external professionals, including local authorities and schools.
  • As Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will play a crucial role in supporting the DSL to maintain a safe and nurturing environment for all children. Your responsibilities include:
    • Actively assisting the DSL in managing safeguarding cases, including meticulous record-keeping, information sharing, and referral processes.
    • Contributing to case reviews and the development of tailored support plans for children.
    • Supporting the implementation and reinforcement of safeguarding policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
    • Assisting with safeguarding training for staff and promoting a culture of vigilance.
    • Contributing to audits and identifying areas for continuous improvement in safeguarding practices.
    • Acting as a vital link for information flow between the DSL, staff, and young people.

    Who We’re Looking For:

    An experienced professional with a preferred background in education and safeguarding. You will have proven experience in:

    • Supporting children and families through complex and challenging situations, often under difficult circumstances.
    • Effectively liaising with external services.
    • A background in child protection work is highly desirable.

    This role requires someone who is highly adaptable and proactive, with the ability to take initiative and expertly manage competing demands under pressure.
